HomeEnergyDecarbonization / Net-Zero Roadmap

📉 Decarbonization / Net-Zero Roadmap builder

Turn a GHG Protocol Scope 1/2/3 baseline into a costed net-zero roadmap: a linear reduction trajectory to your interim and net-zero targets, the SBTi 1.5 °C aligned pathway (≈4.2 %/yr) with the gap, a year-by-year carbon budget, and a Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC) that ranks your measures by $/tCO₂e. Exports to Word and CSV.

Organization & baseline

Scope 2 is the location- or market-based figure (use one consistently). Scope 3 is optional but usually the largest share — SBTi requires it when it is over 40 % of total.

Targets

SBTi near-term targets typically require ≥42 % absolute cut by ~2030 and net-zero by 2050 with residuals (≤10 %) neutralized by permanent removals.

Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC) — abatement measures

Add the measures you plan to deploy. Enter the annual abatement (tCO₂e/yr at full deployment) and the annualized cost in USD/yr (negative = net saving). The tool computes $/tCO₂e, sorts cheapest-first, and shows how far your measures close the gap to the interim target.

⚠️ This builder is a planning and screening aid, not assured GHG accounting. Trajectories are simplified (linear or constant-rate) decarbonization curves; the SBTi 1.5 °C reference uses the ≈4.2 %/yr absolute-contraction benchmark, anchored to your chosen base year, for illustration only. Real corporate targets must follow the GHG Protocol, SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard, and (in the EU) CSRD / ESRS E1, with third-party-assured inventories. Verify boundaries, base year, removals quality and the latest sector pathways before committing.
